Outdoor Woman

Hey everyone! I am now an official North Dakota Macho Woman! My neighbor,Lori and I went to the Lake and took a course in Snowshoeing and Tracking (Wild Animals)! Oh My! How fun was that? We spent the afternoon looking for coyotes and weasle and mink and beaver, and of course, lots of deer. Our group had 11 women and two Mountain men,(nice to look at from behind). We were in the Metaghosie Wilderness and on the Lake, with old fashioned snowshoes. We all took turns falling in the snow,if you didn't keep your toes straight, down you went. And getting up was a whole different ballgame. We hiked 3 miles thru the tundra and brush and Pine trees, beautiful day, around 34 degrees and no wind. The guide was very informative and had alot of experience in the wilderness, sharing stories of following the Lewis and Clark Trail and re-inacting some the sights according to history. He had made all his clothing, had a coyote coat on that weighed 25 lbs. I thought maybe I was on the show Women verses Wild, (oh no that's Man verses Wild), anyway it was great fun, will try next year for the Dog Sledding adventures. The Fish and Game department only do this once a year in Feb and March, and you have to apply early to get a spot. Sure was fun. Dad wishes he could have gone but this time only Women, Yea! We are all fine. Good Luck Jayhawks vs. Wildcats! Hope Jube has a super time at the SHOW, on Broadway. Love to all, Mema
