Outdoor Women

Hi! Another Woooonderful Day! Several friends and I went to Metigoshia, Turtle Mountains and experienced the outdoors. We Snowshoed in the woods and Mountains for several hours. The snow is deep this year and the excerise is very aerobic, (hard to do for me)! We have a professional Mountain Man to help us appreciate the signs the animals leave as they pass thru the area. He talked to us about the berries on the trees, nests, beaver dams and Moose tracks. We didn't see any animals, of course because we were laughing and making too much noise, but fun just the same. We had warm weather in the Mountains, 23 degrees. Actually with all the clothes we had on we were too hot! What Fun!

Grandma has a new lift chair to get her in and out. She cracked a rib trying to raise the Lazyboy footrest. We took her to a Doctor in a nearby town and he was from Africa. So it's hard for Grandma that we have a "colored President", and now she has to go to a "colored" Doctor. She asked him if he played for the New York Yankees. He probably won't forget her as a patient. She seems to make a impression wherever she goes!

Jubilee, you will have to tell us about you birthday!! How old are you? Appreciate every year? Jube Ann full of LIFE! Love to ALL MEMA

Valentine's Day

Hey everyone! Mom and Dad had a great weekend in Winnipeg. We stayed at the Luis de Riel Hotel. Had a suite with movies and roomservice. NICE~! Dad had tickets to an IMAX Theatre in 3D of an Africian Adventure, realllllly awesome. Then we discover they had the Winter Festival going on at the Red River, so took in that. Lots to do and Lots of people at Fort Gilbrator. They had historians talking about the early 1800's trappers and Indians that settled the area, they were dressed in ethnic clothes, consisting of wool. blankets. The trappers traded furs for wool blankets to make their warm clothing. Jere and Josh, do you remember going to Fort Williams in ThunderBay on the way back from Maine. This was like that Fort. Making canoes, the blacksmith, jerky making, the combing of animal hair to make yarn. In the tents there was music, live bands and dancing, in one tent there was a group pulling taffy, made on snow, from maple syrup, delicious. The Clydedales were pulling the sleighs and the kids were in snow mazes and tabgaoons runs. Everywhere outdoors were open firepits to warm up in 3 degrees weather. Wonderful! Wonderful Memory! Daddy and I had a great Day and so good to be out and about. We would like to go back to Winnepeg and go to Chinatown. The railroad construction used the Chinese to build the railroad and so the city has a large population of Chinese. Another Day! On the way home we ran into SNNOW, bad roads, but by now it's no big deal. Love you all, MOM
